I honestly wish the premier were part of the first season DVD set, though. I haven't watched the Target-exclusive disk with "Home Is Where The Spark Is", but I imagine the picture is as sharp as the first DVD.Īll-in-all, a solid deal at Target for $12.99 on sale, and as of this writing, the only official way to get the premier. I don't own a widescreen TV (yet!), but even so, in a cropped 4:3 it looks kind of crammed. This to me is really disappointing, especially since it was broadcast in widescreen. I compared scenes on the DVD to TV broadcast episodes on YouTube, and there are definitely parts on the left and right of the screen that are snipped. ![]() I'm currently watching the premier movie again, and it's great to see it without artifacts and chapter stops I should note that the DVD doesn't offer chapter select, just Play to start the movie. He attempts a daredevil jump with disappointing results The second clip features Prowl meditating, then springing into action by transforming, then racing up a ramp. This clip makes me pine for a full Optimus Prime fire truck body toy, but it looks like our only current option is that transforming blaster toy The Optimus Prime clip was cute in my opinion, and a familiar young human friend asks the questions that any of us would have asked as kids I should note that a small portion of this clip uses the stock Optimus Prime transformation sequence (no bad thing – I love them all), otherwise it's all original. They don't run long, and the animation team behind them looks different than others who've done entire episodes (at least it seems that way to me based on some of the stylistic touches). I want to note that the two shorts are indeed original, and not part of any previous episode. ![]() ![]() I got the DVD last night, so here are my impressions: ![]()
